The Hardy Ranch - Day One

Day One

Soon after we got married, Tony and I bought a small house with eight acres Most of it was a luscious pasture. With all that grass, we couldn't let it go to waste. A few animals would take care of it, surely.

One Saturday afternoon we discovered a livestock auction in Emmett, a small town down the highway a bit from where we lived. For a couple of city-folks, our first Livestock Auction was quite the experience, let me tell you. There was a square pen with a dirt floor surrounded by these thick metal cables.

The metal cage seemed a bit much as the first animals came through the gate: a few pigmy goats and sheep. We held onto our bidding cards and hung tough; The smell of those first few were nearly enough to chase us right out of there.

He's played D&D all his life, always using the same character: Charles. He is a paladin with high charisma points - which means he's good with the ladies. He's suave, he's smooth, handsome, and buff. Now he's REAL! In a blink of an eye, his gaming group at the Renaissance Hotel and Gaming World has been zapped into a magical world and changed into their characters. Talk about a dream come true... or is it?

The Prophecy of the Flame Movie - Andrayia

Which Buxom Blonde will play Andrayia?

Prophecy of the Flame - Book One  Prophecy of the Flame - Book One became #1 on Amazon Kindle shortly after Book Two in the series released. Talk about the movie, based on Book One, began in 2012. A screenplay has been completed. Now we are just waiting for the rest of the pieces to fall into place.
I've never been good at waiting, sitting on my thumbs. How about you? So let's find out what fans think about actors for the movie, before they are picked! How often do you see a movie based on a book and think - they picked HIM for that part?
Now's your chance to weigh in before the decisions made!

The storyline is a basic fish out of water romantic comedy set in a world of fantasy and magic: Five strangers are zapped into a world of magic and given the looks and abilities of the people they were pretending to be. This motley band of wannabe heroes soon discovers having the powers they've always dreamed of, doesn't make life a dream come true!
I have pictured the characters in Prophecy of the Flame for so long... I often watch movies and ask myself – does this star have a part in my cast? What do you think?

Both Amanda Seyfried (right) and Amanda Bynes (lower left) have what it takes to be the buxom, beauty Andrayia – mistress of Prince Alexandros, heir to the Throne of Cuthburan. Andrayia is a feisty blond that will fight for her man – her life, and the life of her son may depend on her strength, as a woman and as a warrior.

Guest Interview

From time to time we have guest join us with a post or interview. Today I am happy to have a fellow author stop by:

Jamie Carie

Author of the Forgotten Castle Series

Jamie Carie writes novels about fierce, passionate women; their dreams; their fears; their triumphs. Her deepest desire is to see her readers find that same passion as they follow their destiny and discover deeper intimacy with Jesus.

She lives in Indianapolis with her husband and three sons.

A little more of This or That from Jamie:

Coffee or Tea: Coffee with cream
Black or white: Black, especially when it comes to clothes and shoes!
Cats or dogs: Dogs. I don’t stand a chance around my house with cats as my husband is jokingly called “the cat whisperer” and steals all their attention.
Vanilla or chocolate: Vanilla! I’m one of those few who don’t care for chocolate.
Beach or mountain: Tough one! I guess I’ll go with beach. I love the sapphire shades of blue in the waters of Mexico and the Caribbean.
Dance or sing: Sing. But I love to dance too!
Autumn or Spring: Spring. After a dreary winter it revitalizes me.
Snow or Sunshine: Sunshine. A sunny day with temperatures in the 70’s is perfect.
Hot or Cold: Hot – brings to mind fiery passion. J
Quite or Loud: Quiet. I need quiet to write and think. (Except for sometimes some music.)
Night or Day: Night. I’m a night owl and enjoy writing at night.
Movies, Music or Book: Movies. But I LOVE all three.
Call or Text: Text. I just do better with written words.
E-mail or snail mail: E-mail. What’s snail mail again? J
Mac or PC: PC right now, but my hubby has promised to buy me a Mac.
Hardcover, paperback, or ebook:  Moving more and more towards ebooks. They are just so convenient.

 The Forgiven Duke

Tethered by her impulsive promise to marry Lord John Lemon - the path of least resistance - Alexandria Featherstone sets off toward Iceland in search of her parents with a leaden heart. A glimpse of her guardian, the Duke of St. Easton - the path less traveled by - on Dublin’s shore still haunts her.

Will he come after her? Will he drag her back to London, quelling her mission to rescue her treasure-seeking parents, or might he decide to throw caution to the wind and choose Foy Pour Devoir: “Faith for Duty,” the St. Easton motto. The Featherstone motto Valens et Volens: “Willing and Able,” beats in her heart and thrums through her veins. She will find her parents and find their love, no matter the cost.

The powerful yet wing-clipped Duke of St. Easton has never known the challenge that has become his life since hearing his ward’s name. Alexandria Featherstone will be the life or the death of him. Only time and God’s plan will reveal just how much this man can endure for the prize of love.

Prophecy of the Flame Movie - ArchMage Reba

ArchMage Reba - Who has the Fire to play the Prophesied Heroine?

Prophecy of the Flame - Book One  became #1 on Amazon Kindle in 2010.  Recently there has been talk about a movie. Before Hollywood cast the film, let them know what YOU think!

(read more about the movie by CLICKING HERE)

For me, picking a Reba is the greatest challenge. The love triangle between the three main characters won’t be complete without a brave, brash, beautiful Reba. But which of Hollywood's fiery redheads has the moxie to play the ordinary housewife who is zapped into a magical world - changed into the most powerful sorceress (mage) Cuthburan has ever seen?

Jamie Alexander looked awfully good in all that battle armor in Thor.  She proved she can battle with the boys.  I would love to see her as the long awaited Prophesied Savior of Cuthbruan?

I love the fighting spirit that Adrianne Palicki shows in her her action movies like Red Dawn and G.I. Joe. The previews for Wonder Woman were awesome - before the NBC series was canceled. Adrianne has the skills, and I've seen her as a blonde and a brunette, but is her complexion suitable for a redhead?

Deborah Ann Woll has only had minor roles - True Blood is the only one I've seen. She is a natural redhead, she's tall, she looks like a REBA, but can she fight? What do you think? Should we give her a shot at a staring role in Prophecy of the Flame?

Or will Twilight fans come out in mass and vote for Kristin Stewart? Do  you think she has the fire to play the bad ass mage?

I look up from the  sentinel  I am keeping into the eyes of a young boy. They are full of hunger and pain. I glance back down at the tiny statue that is keeping watch over me and hand it to him. His eyes fill with joy and wonder. "Keep it," I whisper, barely audible, "it will protect you." I stand up and walk away. I take one step at a time, barely able to put one foot in front of the other as I walk. Now that I have no guard I am helpless. I might as well be left to die.

I walk for a long time, never stopping, never resting. I am somehow staying at the  same  pace. The forest keeps me awestruck. Never before have I seen such a beautiful place. Then, I feel an overwhelming weight in my chest. It is time. I lay myself down and close my eyes. They never will open unless my prince comes to save me. And I desperately hope he does.

By Lauren

I look up from the sentinel I'm keeping into the eyes of a young male wolf. He had very messy black fur and neon green eyes. Whatever he was thinking, I bet he thought I was a ghost by the way he looked at me. All of the sudden, his eyes flashed and I looked down and he looked up. Or was it still him? He looked awfully like... like... ME., a scarlet and black wolf with ice blue eyes.

My eyes pirced me. What was smell... smoke?

I slowly turned my head, or his, to see all the land behind me was filled with neon green mixed with blue fire. I had absolutely nowhere to flee. Howling didn't help me.

The Chocolate Chip Cookie That Calls Your Name

The Cookie

The other day, I saw a broken chocolate chip cookie in a bag on the table.

I knew it'd been a while since I made that batch of cookies - I couldn't remember exactly how long - but I had that chocolate craving I get about once a month.

The cookie was hard (it was soft after I made it). It didn't really taste that good either. After one bite, I chucked the rest.

A couple of hours later, after dinner, I had the worst indigestion, ever! In the morning, I woke up with a burning throat and a tiny bit of vomit in my mouth. All day long all I  managed to hold down a few crackers... that's it!

I'll never eat an old cookie again!
